What makes Silent Obstacles different from traditional obstacles?
Silent Obstacles are designed to reduce noise without sacrificing performance. Instead of hard plastic, wood, metal, or concrete, they use layered, impact-absorbing materials that soften sound while keeping consistent pop, control, and slide.
What makes Silent Pads different from a mousepad?
Silent Pads are high-quality mousepads engineered specifically for fingerboarding. We tested dozens of different rubbers and fabrics to find the best combination for significantly reducing noise while still maintaining the pop and feel of a hard surface.
They feature realistic, sublimated graphics with no logos and invisible stitching for so you can tile them and expand your silent fingerboard park.
How much quieter are they?
In our sound tests, Silent Obstacles consistently measured around 10-20 dB quieter than traditional obstacles. The decibel (dB) scale is logarithmic which means a 10 dB increase represents roughly 10x more sound energy. Silent Obstacles also produce a deeper, dampened sound without high frequency pings, squeaks, or scratches, further reducing how noticeable the noise feels indoors.
Do they still feel realistic?
Yes. A bit like magic, they are technically flexible to absorb noise but rigid and slick enough to feel practically indistinguishable from using a traditional obstacle.
Do they move or slide around while riding?
No, the precise silicone traction and solid weighted core work together to minimize movement while safely gripping to almost any desk or surface.
How durable are they?
They are naturally impact-resistant and constructed with strong mechanical and chemical bonds, so they won't break apart, crack, chip, or dent if you drop it. They're also resistant to sharp objects and essentially waterproof, but they can still be damaged with extreme force and should be treated with care.
