Silent Bench Prototype
One of the first Silent fingerboard obstacles ever produced, constructed using entirely different materials than today's Silent obstacles.
This prototype was the result of over a year of development, with only a few in various colors sold to the public.

Materials
This early prototype was an experiment in adapting the layered materials of a mouse pad into a functional fingerboard obstacle. It featured a hand-cast urethane body with slick fabric stretched over noise-dampening grinding surfaces, creating a quiet obstacle that successfully proved the concept.
Construction
Although this prototype performed well, it had its drawbacks and was far too time-intensive and complex to manufacture consistently. Those challenges ultimately led to the development of today's Silent obstacles, which solved the shortcomings of this prototype and resulted in the Silent experience that fingerboarders know and love today.
